Homemade Quest-Like Protein Bars!
These bars are made from literally TWO ingredients: Whey Protein Powder & VitaFiber (plus optional extras.. see below!). If you’ve never heard of VitaFiber before, it’s a low calorie sweetener and prebiotic fiber which is the SECRET ingredient in many popular protein bars – including Quest Bars! VitaFiber tastes sweet and is poorly digested in the human digestive tract, thus providing fewer calories (1.5 kcal/g) overall.
Ingredients for 6 protein bars:
- 125g VitaFiber
- ¼ cup water
- 180g Whey protein powder
- Optional: oats, cocoa, chopped nuts, peanut butter, vanilla, anything else you want to add!
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add the 180g of whey protein powder
Step 2: In a small sauce pan, heat 125g of Vitafiber until you start to see bubbles
Step 3: Add ¼ cup of water to the Vitafiber and stir
Step 4: Remover the pan from the heat and pour the mixture into the mixing bowl of whey protein powder
Step 5: Add in any other optional ingredients at this time
Step 6: Mix ingredients together until you get a sticky dough like consistency
Step 7: Mold into a bar shape either using a silicone tray or on parchment paper
Step 8: Let cool in fridge for 30 minutes and enjoy!
